Assistant General Manager, Miguel Farias

Miguel Farias entered the hospitality industry at the age of seventeen when he joined the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas as a server. During his eight years there, his various positions also included bartender, host and lastly as restaurant supervisor. While still working with the Hyatt Hill Country Resort, Miguel joined the opening team at the Westin Resort La Cantera also in a supervisory position.

In 1997, Miguel opened Champps Americana Restaurant in San Antonio, became an Executive Trainer and assisted in the opening of another Champps in Houston. Two years later, he moved to Houston where he attended the University of Houston for Hotel and Restaurant Management. While in school, he worked for the Hyatt Regency at the Spindletop as a supervisor before transferring to the front desk also as a supervisor.

In 2001, Miguel returned to San Antonio and his family and took a position at La Mansion Del Rio for six years as a fine dining server and trainer. He was also a trainer and part of the restaurant opening team for the Watermark Hotel and Spa. Five years later, he was promoted to Assistant Manager of Pesca on the River (Watermark Hotel and Spa).
